Ministry Partnerships
Today, Second Mile Ministries continues to partner with many of the organizations Len and Virginia originally supported. The list of partnerships continues to grow along with the individuals the Lord reaches through the trusts, extending beyond formal ministries.
Coastal Choices Women’s Clinic
Having been personally impacted by a teen pregnancy out of wedlock, Virginia remembered the fear and uncertainty she faced. Both she and Len developed a deep compassion for pregnancy ministries, recognizing that their impact extended far beyond just the baby. While saving lives was the primary goal, their ultimate desire was to see all the lives involved in each individual story receive salvation and discipleship. Through their partnership with Coastal Choices Women's Clinic (formerly known as Grace House), they were able to participate in making this a reality. Today, Amber serves as Board Chair on the Board of Directors, continuing the legacy of partnership her grandparents established.
Samaritan’s Purse
Having experienced the devastation caused by hurricanes while living in the Florida Keys, Len and Virginia felt a deep connection with Samaritan's Purse and began partnering with the organization. With a mission to help in Jesus' name, Samaritan's Purse serves through various ministries, including Disaster Relief, Operation Christmas Child, Operation Heal Our Patriots, Global Medical Missions, and more. Through these efforts, the organization strives to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a world in need.
Breaking Ground Missions
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commissions His disciples to "go and make disciples of all nations." In response to this calling, the Lord brought Breaking Ground Missions into Len and Virginia's lives through a high school friend of Amber’s husband, David. Justin and his wife, Charla, felt called to Uganda to teach sound doctrine, plant churches, and evangelize the villages. Through this partnership, Len and Virginia were deeply humbled to receive the honor of having Breaking Ground's second training center named after them. We continue to witness a mighty move of God sweeping through Africa as the Great Commission is being fulfilled.
Grow In Grace Counseling
Navigating today’s culture can be challenging, with the world urging individuals to follow their hearts while often distorting the truth of God’s Word. Through the partnership with Grow In Grace Counseling, Second Mile Ministries is able to support individuals in the local community by providing the clinical psychological help they need, all while ensuring that care is rooted in the truth of God’s Word. This ministry enables individuals to find and live in the abundant life that Jesus promises in Scripture.
Exchange Ministries
Sexual immorality runs rampant in our society today, just as God's Word foretold. Exchange Ministries exists to provide inspiration, hope, and refuge to those seeking to realign their sexual identity with their identity in Christ. Through equipping and supporting the church, individuals, and families of LGBTQ+ identified loved ones, Exchange Ministries offers a powerful source of transformation in Christ Jesus. We are blessed to partner with an organization that addresses one of the toughest topics—one that sadly many churches avoid—and we have witnessed God bring healing and wholeness through this ministry.
Apartment Life
Amber’s career in the multifamily industry naturally led to partnership with Apartment Life, a faith-based non-profit committed to creating connections within apartment communities. Apartment Life focuses on fostering community for individuals who are in times of transition or hardship. Through their mission, they continue to build spaces where people can experience love, support, and care—making a profound difference in their lives. When residents ask "Why?" it not only opens the door for genuine relationships but also creates a meaningful opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Dunklin Memorial Church
One of the early organizations that Len and Virginia partnered with was Dunklin Memorial Church, a Christian regeneration program for men struggling with chemical addiction. Having been personally impacted by addiction in numerous ways, Len and Virginia developed a deep love and respect for its founder, Brother Mickey Evans, and believed passionately in the vital work the organization does.
Billy Graham Evangelistic Association
While being the hands and feet of Jesus through tangible demonstrations of God’s love is powerful and opens doors, nothing holds more power than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For many years, Len and Virginia have supported the work of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, recognizing the eternal impact of sharing the message of salvation.
No Longer Fatherless
We have witnessed firsthand how the enemy attacks families, especially through the removal of fathers from the home. The statistics are staggering, and the impact of strong male leadership in a boy’s life is undeniable. Through partnership with No Longer Fatherless, we are blessed to see the mentoring, equipping, and empowering of boys to become successful men.
Youth Leadership
From a young age, Amber wanted to teach high school students, inspired by the positive impact of her teachers and coaches. Although her career took her in different directions, her decision to dedicate herself to full-time ministry brought that dream to fruition. In whatever church the Holy Spirit has led her family, Amber has served as a youth leader, discipling and teaching middle and high school students. What started as a desire to love and bless the students has, in turn, blessed Amber tenfold.
